How To Enable AMD-V In UEFI/ Legacy BIOS

We found many people have problems running some programs. This host supports AMD-V but AMD-V is disabled, and that led to many questions about AMD-V:

How do I enable AMD-V?

What is AMD-V in BIOS?

How do I enable AMD-V in UEFI BIOS?

How do I know if my AMD-V is enabled?

How to enable Amd-v in Asus bios?

Amd virtualization enable or disable

Here we  will try to give some information about  AMD-V and how to enable it.

What is AMD-V?

[AMD-V] AMD CPU virtualization is a technology that allows different operating systems to run concurrently on the same computer. It is a type of hardware virtualization in which a single physical CPU acts as several virtual processors, each with its own operating system. This technology is used to boost application performance while also increasing system security. It also enables resource sharing among several operating systems, making it easier to manage many systems on the same computer.

Is it safe to enable AMD-V?

Should Virtualization be Enabled?

As far  as we know and have been searching about this, Virtualization Technology is turned off by default because most people do not use it. There is no risk whether Virtualization Technology (AMD-V) is enabled or not. However, you should not enable AMD-V unless you intend to use it.

 How to Enable AMD-V?

1* for UEFI BIOS

There are many methods to do that, however we suggest enabling AMD-V in UEFI BIOS, and here is the way:

Restart your computer and press the BIOS Key
F2 or DEL.

Now we need to Locate the CPU configuration section.

To do that, Click [F7]or  click on [Advanced Mode].

Now Click on [CPU Configuration].

You will find [SVM Mode] , [Enabled] it.

Click [F10]Save and reset, or go to [Exit] and choose [Save and Reset].

2* for Legacy BIOS

Restart your computer and press the BIOS Key F2 or DEL

Go to  [System Configuration] or  [Advanced CPU Features]

You will find [Virtualization Technology] , [Enabled] it

Click [F10]Save and reset, or go to [Exit] and choose [Exit  Saving Changes].

How to  know if AMD-V is Enabled in your Windows?

The simplest way to check is to go to Task Manager->Performance Tab:

press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC

or press CTRL + ALT + DEL and open the [Task Manager] go to [Performance Tab

As shown in the screenshot below, you should see Virtualization. If it is enabled, it indicates that your CPU supports virtualization and that it is currently enabled in BIOS. If it is disabled, you must enable it in the BIOS. If you don't see virtualization, it means your CPU doesn't support it.
